How I Work

Sessions are arranged in advance. You choose the format that works best for you.

🚶

Walk & Talk

Counselling outdoors, side by side

Your session takes place outdoors in Shrewsbury — walking next to each other rather than in a therapy room. Less intimidating, more open. You set the pace.

  • Easier to open up outside a formal setting
  • Gentle movement combined with counselling
  • Routes are relaxed; benches available throughout
💻

  • No travel required
🪑

In Room

Traditional face-to-face in Shrewsbury

The traditional therapy setting, based in Shrewsbury town centre — accessible by foot, bus, or car. A warm room and a hot drink will be waiting for you.

  • Warm, private, closed-door room
  • Leave your thoughts behind when you leave
  • Full connection through body language

Lucy helped me understand the root of my feelings and emotions in a way that made me feel seen and validated.

Walk and talk therapy with Lucy is working really well for me. It’s a great way to get some headspace while talking to a professional.

More than anything I’ve learnt I am enough, and that really is thanks to Lucy. I would highly recommend her.

Sophie

Lucy is a great listener. Her easy going manner encourages sharing.

I highly recommend Lucy’s walk and talk service. This environment makes it less formal and therefore much easier to talk.

Ben

Lucy was great — the perfect balance of listening and challenging me to help work through my whirlwind of emotions.

Helen

You never gave up on me, and every time I saw you it was like an immense weight had been lifted off of my chest.

It was really hard to take that first step, but Lucy put me at ease straight away. The first session flew by.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before getting in touch.

Walk & Talk

I will check in with you on the morning of our session. If we are both happy to proceed we can go ahead. If not, we can switch to online or reschedule.

The locations where sessions take place are open and quiet, so there is no need to worry about being overheard.

As Shrewsbury is a small town this can happen. We will discuss in advance what you would like me to do if it does.

Not at all. There are plenty of benches on every route. We can sit for the entire session if you prefer.

Whatever you feel comfortable in. Trainers or walking boots and a warm coat are recommended, especially in winter.

In Room

The centre does not have its own parking but there are public car parks nearby.

There is a waiting room as you enter. I will meet you there and we will walk to the room together, where a hot drink will be offered.

Yes, there are toilets near the waiting room and also near our room.

Online

That hasn’t been my experience. Many clients have found it feels more personal because I am speaking with them in their own home.

Ready to Take the First Step?

It can feel hard to reach out. You don’t need to have the right words — just send a message and we’ll take it from there.

The best way to reach me is by email. Once I hear from you, we can arrange a quick chat before anything is booked — there's no pressure, just a chance to talk things through first.
